How to find a profitable idea for business
His Work / / December 26, 2019
Ideas are at all. But not everyone knows how to bring them to life and not to kill at an early stage. Moreover, a huge number of ideas will never move from the stage of "just thought" in the implementation stage. And all because often we do not know how to choose one that will fly. We are afraid to make a mistake. Afraid to start. Afraid to fall.
If we were not afraid and knew where to start, it would have long become millionaires or to change the world. And this does not have to be a genius or rich. Maybe enough to start just not be a perfectionist and do not get hung up on the "fact of his life?"
In James Klier (James Clear), entrepreneur and author of books and articles about self-development, has its own considerations on this subject. I do not trust such people, because their main purpose is to sell themselves and their workshops. But these tips are really very simple, and because of this they are working.
In addition, we have a great opportunity to get them for free. ;)
Profit does not mean perfect
The idea should not be brilliant or new, such that no one has yet tried to implement. First, find this idea very difficult. It needs to be really brilliant. Second, while you're still thinking about who else just will take and do it, so that it will cease to be new.
The idea does not have to be the work of your life, your passion. Because it is in such moments a person becomes perfectionist and concentrates on the work in progress, constantly changing everything in an effort to get closer to the ideal.
And if you are still in the painful search for his business? Does this mean that you never start doing something?
Be Specific
Before you start to do something, set boundaries for yourself, select a specific type of activity.
What do you think, who to turn less likely customers? For the professional photographer, wedding photographer, or baby pictures?
Couples who are looking for a wedding photographer is likely to apply it to the wedding photos. Parents who want to capture the child, will find a children's photographer. Let a professional, but this child.
Be specific. Decide exactly what you I want to. A larger field of activity does not guarantee you a higher income.
Decide on supply and demand
In order to understand whether your idea will fly enough to answer two simple questions:
- Whether buyers want to pay for the product?
- Will they be able to pay for it?
For example, you decide to become a children's photographer. Will parents pay for the beautiful photos of their children? Of course yes! I tell you as a parent with five years of experience. :)
Will they be able to pay for it? I think yes. But that's how it is? Do give the average family photo session for your child 1000 dollars? I think no. A 100? Probably yes.
No castles in the air, and rose-colored glasses. You have to draw their portraits clients. Who are they? What do? What is their average income?
There are no "what if" and "if." You work with real people, not fictional characters. But real people are extremely reluctant to try something new. While you will reinvent the wheel, others will make a very simple ideas, wrapped in a nice package.
So, soberly assess the idea, look around and do a swim test. And if does not work, you are looking for something new. If you otsechote all unnecessary, you postpone your perfectionism into the background, swallow your fly. Yes, this may not be the first, not the fifth, and sometimes not even a tenth time. But it's still better than not trying.
I know whereof I speak. I had a thousand ideas. Something worked (but eventually turned down because of the banal lack of experience), something just did not fly, and about something I still just think. Maybe this is one of thousands of the most simple and inconspicuous, ever learn to fly. But as long as I do not try, I do not know. True?
