Why you do not need to start a business, or Freedom to be an employee
His Work / / December 26, 2019
Today it is fashionable to dream about his business. Open a business, to earn big money, sipping from a glass and sitting comfortably on a lounger in Thailand. It is tempting. And it is absolutely unreal. We are ready to explain why your business - is the lack of freedom, and the wage-labor - it is easy and pleasant.
Let's be honest: the entrepreneur is often associated with a stylishly dressed man who always speaks on the phone last model, corrects an expensive watch on his wrist, and then sits in the premium car, to get to his plane and go to work somewhere on island. Because he can.

The truth is far different. Entrepreneurship - this is the most difficult path, which only can be selected. This opinion is shared by John Westenberg (Jon Westenberg), entrepreneur, writer and columnist known publications.
John Westenberg, entrepreneurIf you create a startup, because you want a balance between personal life and work, freedom and time to rest, I have bad news for you. You will not succeed.
Why do not you get? Let's face it.
count money
If you are an employee, you get a fixed salary. This allows you to sit at the beginning of the month, brew a cup of coffee and plan on spending 30 days in advance. You are cheerful, happy and have a good understanding where to spend your paycheck this week and next, too.
The equation is simple: you are running X hours a week, get Y money for it.
This equation does not work when you are an entrepreneur. It turns into a multi-level monster and makes your brain literally explode.
You need to understand how much money you have, what deals you can close what your cash flow for an open... Moreover, you need to figure out how much money you can set aside as its own wages, in order not to go bankrupt in the next month. You'll have to be satisfied with small amounts over a long time. It is very difficult.
On the other hand, if you learn save and to think of all a few steps forward, sooner or later your business will earn more, and you will learn to make good decisions about finances.
You have to find the balance point. Either you sacrifice their lives to save money and invest it in a business, or else leave it as is and hope that everything somehow will develop itself.
The second option - the easiest. He will destroy you. One has to choose the first one.
I agree, it all sounds very sad. That's why an employee to be much easier than starting a business. Deprivation and self-restraint - it is difficult, and not everyone is able to cope with them.
As there over time?
Most entrepreneurs sincerely believe that their own business - it is a good way to control the time and to separate work from personal life. Unfortunately, this is complete nonsense.
For most of those who have started personal businessThe time - is the main and primary resource. And even here, the entrepreneur has to deal with certain risks. After all, time can be a little, and tomorrow it will disappear. But, anyway, that's all you have.
The first few years you'll spend almost all their time on new business. Time, in fact, is the only resource that you have complete control and feel. No matter how much money you will have the time make you feel nervous and not too few hours you devote to your business?
A live where?
My boss - an idiot
So many say, and with his head immersed in their own business. Unfortunately, the reality is that running the other person is much easier than to be the boss himself. Even if the boss is bad.
There are two types of leaders:
- Head-bastard. You know these. They watch carefully, so that you never for a moment late, can put a stack of cases on the table in five minutes before the end of the working day. They do not remember when it's your birthday, and barely give pay raises.
- Head-nihilists. These, too, are. They do not care what time you crossed the threshold of the office, they do not provide feedback on your work. Sometimes you think that this boss is not interested in what you do in the office. And because you feel useless, and think their work senseless.
The truth is that if you are an entrepreneur, you will sooner or later turn into one of those that's superiors. You are either going to give itself free rein, or go mad in trying to control every minute.
Your employees will not understand you. It's up to you, your child, your future. No wonder that you focus on the maximum pressure, and the sound of a ticking clock to wake in the night. In fact, you'll be the only person in the team, put his life to an end.
This is a very unhealthy situation. But it can not be otherwise.
And the good news
If you have read all the grim history and came to this line - we congratulate you. Because the good news, too.
All the horrors described above do exist and expect everyone who starts their own business. But it's worth it. In return, you get the opportunity to create something incredible, unique and original.
You will be able to change own career progress and take responsibility for their future. When you do something for yourself, you get a lot of satisfaction.
And maybe - maybe! - someday you will be able to go so far that you really will conduct their business somewhere on the coast, on a comfortable lounger and sipping a cocktail. But the path to this sun lounger is very long and complicated. It is not for everyone. But it's worth it.
