This is probably one of the most amazing about Apple stories that have ever read in the last few years. It's not about not about Jobs and Wozniak, but about the average programmer. The dismissed employee "apple" of the company for six months penetrated into the office with only one purpose: to accomplish the project.
Avitsur Ron (Ron Avitzur) started to write programs while still at school. In the early 90's Apple drew attention to it. Ron was asked to become part of a secret project to create a new computer.
However, due to disagreements within the Apple, the project was canceled. And with him in August 1993, the regiment was sent to a graphing calculator, which is in works Avitsur.
Ron was a freelancer, contractor, and also a very talented designer. Therefore, Apple invited him to a completely different project. The company does not take into account only one - the degree of "obsession" Avitsura his "brainchild".
Ron, who led a very modest life, decided that accumulated while working on Apple's funds, enough to stretch at least a year. So he refused all offers.
On the last working day of the Rhône manager called him in and asked to issue an invoice for services rendered previously and cancel the ID-badge that was used as a pass. Ron realized that if you do not subscribe to that effect, the internal Apple system will assume that the project is alive, a work in progress and skip will still be valid. So Avitsur was just more careful - trying not to get caught the eye of manager, hiding and hiding at the sight of his appearance.

Ron Avitsur decided to secretly infiltrate the headquarters of Apple. There he continued to work on the graphing calculator. I did it for free. Ron just hoped that if he could complete the work to the release of the new Mac, Apple will deliver its program on each machine sold. That was the dream Avitsury - release convenient graphing calculator, which could benefit the students of schools and universities students.
By the way, free work on the canceled project in those days at Apple was not considered a rarity. Ron remembers that Apple engineers have continued to develop Spectre project, which was first closed, and then five years later restarted Apple's development.
So, Ron parked his "Toyota" the 87-year issue outside the Infinite Loop, penetrated into the headquarters, climbed into an empty room and finalizes its calculator. Then he was joined by another Engineer - Greg Robbins.
The fact that in the office there are a couple of strangers who donated stopped working on the project for the rest of the staff was an open secret. Moreover, many sympathizers from time to time as an opportunity to participate - gave advice and helped with testing.

This is somewhat weakened Avitsury caution. In September 1993, at the Apple headquarters decided otherwise distribute the staff offices. When the manager asked Ron what he was doing at Apple, he told the truth. The manager was not surprised, but due to security staff, who canceled a permit.
Ron Avitsur decided not to throw out the badge. He took advantage of familiarity with other engineers and developers who helped him get into office. Due to the badge, he did not stand out from the rest of Apple employees. Avitsura and Robbins worked for 12 hours a day, seven days a week. "Since we did not have managers, it was not a meeting, and we could be incredibly productive," - later recalled Ron.
In October, the main work on the graphing calculator has been completed. With the help of the engineers who helped in its development, Avitsure managed to persuade managers to conduct a product demonstration. She was successful. Managers asked questions like "in what group do you work?", "Reports to whom?", "Why do not we seen this before?" and could not believe that developers have to secretly penetrate into the office and free to drag yourself project.
All the work was completed in January of 1994. Graphing Calculator software has become part of every Mac. She has sold over 20 million copies, has never officially existed.
What made Ron and Greg Robbins Avitsuru work for free to hide and sneak into the office? whether their financial issue to worry? whether they sought to wealth? Not really. Apple then experienced serious financial difficulties. Authors applications joked that engaged in volunteer work for the benefit of non-profit organizations. Guys very much wanted to create a quality program, which would help in the formation of students. Wanted to help children learn math. There was also a desire to gratify the ego - before that none of the authors did not release an app that would be installed on millions of computers.
The complete history of the graphing calculator is available at the official website of Ron Avitsury. But his speech on the same topic in Google:
