IINA - new video player to MacOS, which will replace the VLC

The free open source player and a modern design that is able to satisfy even the most demanding users and become a complete substitute for VLC.

Good old VLC though quite cope with their tasks, but in recent versions macOS looks already frankly obsolete. In this respect IINA has several advantages: the player is designed only for the Mac, so in no way distracting from the Apple design and supports all branded chip system.

The application is based on the popular cross-platform media player mpv, but it is written in the Swift and runs on MacOS 10.10 and in newer versions. IINA has a neat interface to QuickTime-style and sports a frameless design, which looks very cool. However, the external player simplicity rather deceptive, since its capabilities and an abundance of a variety of options it is not inferior to the canonicity of the VLC, and in some ways even surpasses the old man.

All settings in IINA distributed across multiple menu items, but it is easier and faster to get to them through the convenient side menu. Options in it are divided into three tabs, each of which is responsible for the video settings, audio and subtitle. Setting themselves here just unreal amount, starting from the playback speed and appearance of the subtitles, finishing and framing configuration podgruzku subtitles from external sources.

Of course, the player supports a lot of formats and playlists, and chapter markers. In addition to local files, IINA able to play streaming videos from YouTube, Vimeo and other sites. Ease of management IINA also did not disappoint. Supports plenty of hot keys and multi-touch gestures that lend themselves to customization. The developers have made sure that the owners of the new Mac does not have lost their major advantages and implemented support for touch sensitivity trackpads Force Touch and new touch panel Touch Bar. The player has almost all branded Apple chips, including the mode of "picture in picture" that allows you to comfortably watch TV series in the background.

For advanced users, it provides the option to enable advanced features that give access to the configuration files mpv and provide support for custom scripts.
