Too many small business owners spend at work longer than they wanted to, desperately trying to find a balance between business and personal life. In this article, we will explore the main reasons why this is happening, and tell how this can be combated.
One of the most effective ways to reduce the processing is to delegate duties to their direct subordinates. Often, in spite of the increase in the number of employees, managers can not delegate their responsibilities to someone else.
As an example, let us quote from an article by Richard Kirby (Richard Kirby) «Why do you do in time?", Based on an interview with Jim Elampi (Jim Alampi), Speaker of the coaching company Vistage:
Unfortunately, productivity growth depends on the ability of the head delegate responsibility, but the small business owners it is simply not enough time nor patience. Reassignment of responsibilities means by not only granting new powers to subordinates, but also increase your level of confidence in him.
This statement is quite accurately reflects the essence of the problem. Very often entrepreneurs by necessity take on too many roles, that causes them to take many important decisions for the future of the company on their own.
As soon as the growing company such decisions is becoming more and more. This leads to the fact that some of the issues referenced to the non-critical and remain unsolved. Thus, the need to address them from time to time falls on the head.
To change this trend and win the working time, managers should consider and bring to employees new scheme of interaction, which implies division of responsibility for the adoption of management decisions.
Here are some basic questions that should be addressed in the transfer of powers subordinates:
- Who of subordinates, you can rely on critical issues?
- Are there any reasons why you can not entrust them with more authority? Or you do not do it out of habit?
- Loyalty to subordinates the interests of the company is beyond doubt, but they lack the experience to make the right decisions. When and what you can do for them to get this experience?
If you find answers to questions not obtained, and recycling is growing, then the reason is you. Your people and will be inactive as long as you do not give them authority and understanding of reality: to make mistakes - it's ok!
So, what is your way? Let things take their course and not to invest in the development of its employees? Or try to divide powers and return to normal life?
We hope you choose the second option. And what ways have time to know everything you do?
