PastVu - World map with photos from the past

PastVu - a website that a few years ago was a resource of rare archival photographs of Moscow, but now includes pictures of the many corners of the Earth. As the authors say, Ilya Varlamov and Alex Duk, a "project to collect evidence of the past in the photos, look at the history of the environment of mankind."
At the entrance to the site you will see a map of the world with a variety of images. You can zoom in the map and watch looked certain streets or buildings in the past. When you hover over the thumbnail of a photo you can tell when it was made, pressing the - look at it in full size. Just below is the description of the picture, the author's name, source and even the photographer was shooting in any direction.
It is possible to filter out the image on the map, selecting only the photos or drawings only. Available from below a slider which can remove images taken in a particular period. You can also choose to work with one's cards: OpenStreetMap, Google or "Yandex".
PastVu attracted the attention of many Russian-speaking users, and from the comments to pictures can be learn a lot of interesting things: the people of the former Soviet Union are actively involved in the development of the project.
