Formula solutions of Einstein's problems and why you're doing it wrong

Einstein claimed that he has no special talents, in addition, that he was extremely curious. He also knew how important it is to find time for in-depth review and analysis of what he studied. And it is precisely this skill we lack today.
We used to think that if all the time to reflect and think through everything to the smallest detail, it is possible so do not start. The main motto of the day - "Act!". If you keep something to try, be sure to shoot one of the options and make us rich, famous, or at least just successful.
Einstein all this was a bit of a different view.
He spent a lot of time for reflection and very little time - the actions. And now it is difficult to find someone who would not know who Albert Einstein. And, perhaps, his approach was more appropriate? Or more appropriate to the ideas of a specific plan?
Einstein was a genius, and his formula for the solution of problems, too, was ingeniously simple.
on innovation consultant and author Jeffrey Phillips tells this story:
When Einstein was asked how he would spend the time given in the solution of a problem (one hour), he said that the 55 minutes he spent on the allocation problem and its alternatives, and 5 minutes - by her decision.
And this is the exact opposite of what is now doing most of the leaders.
Rather than to define the problem and study it in order to then find the most suitable solution, the focus is on finding a solution. And since without a detailed study of the problem is the first decision is unlikely to be the most successful, and then falls again to seek a new solution. And then one more, and one more.
Phillips said that when we give preference only effective, innovative die.
Dooming themselves to prison metrics, we underestimate the future, the more valuable prospects that we can give a decision can not be quantified (sensing, empathy, analysis, peace of mind). We are accustomed to instantaneous fire-fighting, we constantly check the email and try to immediately respond to all emails.
We are in touch anytime, anywhere, and all this requires us to solve problems almost immediately, not giving enough time to study the nature of the problem.
You can not cut your way to the design thinking. This is a carefully planned process.
- You note the problem.
- Contemplating solutions, conduct experiments.
- Talking with users.
- Again claim.
- And then turn it into a source of profit.
We load ourselves appointments and tasks in order to show the value of our team. We are busy, we have everything planned out a month in advance and there is a free moment - we are working! But often, this approach ultimately did not produce any results (or results are not worth the time spent on them time and effort).
As long as the managers are thinking this way, innovation is not. Because innovative thinking, not an endless process of making, produces results.
