Green Belt: You get a dozen or so messages a day.
1. Take advantage of video chat.
Gmail enables you to video and voice chat, because it allows you to feel closer to the other party, as opposed to communicating through an ordinary conversation.
2. Plan your day using the "Tasks".
By clicking on the section "Tasks", you will see a list of tasks, where you can add new tasks, or edit topics. Access your tasks is also possible via mobile phone at www.gmail.com/tasks.
3. Install filters to control incoming messages.
Filters will be automatically archived, add labels and stars to messages, delete or forward you specify the types of messages. This can greatly save your time.
4. Check your email via the mobile phone.
Use the Gmail interface for mobile phones, to always have access to your postal address, read and send important messages.
5. Check attachments without downloading them.
You can easily check that contains an attached file, just select the option "Show as HTML".
6. Tell your friends about how you're doing by using the function of the status message.
The status message will be available for reading in the chat window. It can contain anything from your state of mind before any jokes.
7. Never forget attachments when sending messages.
With this feature, you will never forget an important file to attach to your message as when you try to send a message without the attached file, you will be warned about this.
8. Let everyone know when you come back from vacation.
You are going to go on vacation during the holidays? Gmail autoresponder will reply to all emails, indicating that you are on vacation and come back after some time (set by you).
