People who work in a noisy office, at least sometimes envy those who work alone. But in this case, too, there are irritants, from which it is difficult to get rid of: laziness, excuses, procrastination. Four work rules alone will help you stay productive and concentrate on the task.
1. Learn how to enter the streaming condition
The concept of "flow" - full communion with the activity and situation - introduced the psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. In his book, "Creativity: the psychology of discovery and invention," he cites conversations with artists and scientists, on the basis of which allocates nine elements required for entry into the streaming state:
- the existence of clear objectives during the operation;
- continuous evaluation of their actions;
- finding a balance between the difficulty of the task and the skills of the performer;
- action and unity of consciousness;
- deliverance of consciousness from distractions;
- no fear of failure;
- lack of self-doubt;
- altered perception of time;
- involvement in activities.
As suggested by Csikszentmihalyi, people are able to flow better able to absorb the information better analyze and memorize it. It also helps to enjoy the work.
2. Curb internal stimuli
Surrounded by people on our atmosphere acts of collective activity, distraction from thinking about yourself. Alone with yourself again we begin to listen to the inner voice that reminds us of our mistakes and failures. Get rid of it can be listening to the sounds of nature or simply accepting their shortcomings.
3. Know when to stop
American author and screenwriter Steven Pressfield in the book "War of the creative" tells us that one of the secrets success - the ability to stop in time, so that your brain had time subconsciously structuring information. Pressfield itself begins working day at 10:30 am and ends exactly when begins to make errors.
The working day should end: a certain time or a certain factor, such as frequent mistakes or blunders. This way, you give yourself the time unknowingly working on assignments and the next day will be surprised how many new ideas emerged. If you do not have the possibility at any time to finish the working day, do at least a little breaks to rest.
4. Find your "natural habitat"
If the animal does not return to their natural habitat, threatens its survival in serious danger. For humans, this is not as critical, but we can learn from the animal world.
For example, if in the morning you are doing an intense creative work, it is possible that you will feel comfortable in solitude - in his room. During the day you can try to respond to emails from crowded places coffee shop, park, library. Experiment and observe his condition - so you will find a scheme that works for you.
