Productivity / / December 23, 2019
You've heard a lot of tips on how to become more healthy, productive and motivated. It is necessary to drink 2 liters of water a day, eat fruits and vegetables, to read classics and non-fikshen, get up at four in the morning to meditate and exercise at least three times a week.
But few people can follow all this. Life is too unpredictable to permanently adhere to the ideal of the daily routine. And when we repeatedly go to bed late, prokrastiniruem or skipping a workout, you begin to blame themselves due to lack of productivity.
If we know how to behave properly, to the days were as efficient as possible, but do not follow this knowledge, we feel that we have something to lose: time, money, opportunity. It is a natural feeling, but harmful: it creates tension, which worsens our condition, and prevents to become better.
Fortunately, there is a way to get rid of guilt. To do this, you need to perform three steps.
1. I realize that nobody is perfect
We are all different, but no one behaves impeccably every second. Even the most productive and successful people in the world often allow themselves to miss the trip to the room, lain in bed until lunch or volley to see the whole season sitcom.
Moreover, if you collect all on productivity tips in the world, it becomes clear that it is impossible to follow. Many of them contradict each other, and all the actions they propose to carry out, not enough time in the day. Therefore, they must be filtered: choose only those that seem appropriate and important.
2. Take that do not need to be perfect
To be perfect is not only impossible, but also not necessary. Advice that you met in social networks or blog - is an indication not so much to act as a push in the right direction. He necessarily follow exactly.
For example, if you find out that you need to train three times a week, but do you have time for only one lesson - do not worry. Maybe then you will be able to increase the number of trips to the gym, but even in the current situation, you will become healthier and stronger every week.
3. Focus on the present
One of the main sources of guilt - real gap between us and those whom we want to be. We think about the way of life we seek, and we understand that it will take a huge amount of time and effort to get closer to him. It scares and discourages.
And this is not the best way to look at things. Of course, it would be great if we were flawless beings, wise, patient, with a reserve of time and effort. But in reality it is not so.
We're just people, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Instead of wondering, "How do I become a perfect version of yourself", think: "What can I do to improve results in this area?" It is important that you try to get better now. And not that you still have not achieved some goals, which themselves have come up with.
Here are a few rules that should be followed to not start blaming yourself again:
- Select some of the most important goals (or even one) and accept the idea that to lose some business - this is normal.
- Stop to compare themselves with others. Everyone has their own unique way, capacity and conditions. It only matters how you get better.
- Separate advice on necessary and those that would have been a plus. Concentrate on how to follow only the first, and the rest is executed at the opportunity.
- Understand that guilt is not necessary. It can motivate, but side effects such as psychological stress is not worth it. better look motivation in the other place.
