More than anyone else, iOS 9 should evaluate iPad users, and this is no accident. All business in new features multitasking. A key one is the Split View, which will be available only to owners of brand new iPad Pro, IPad Air 2 and his "younger brother" iPad mini 4. It allows you to display two applications at the same time, half (or even more), increasing productivity. For information on how this works, see below.
To switch to the Split View mode you have to hold your finger on the right edge of the screen and cause Slide Over - another new feature that allows you to view running applications and work with them in a small widget. In order to transfer an application from Slide Over in Split View mode, you just need to pull the window border and expand it to half of the screen.
Both applications will be fixed on the screen and you will be able to work with them at the same time, as if it were a single application. No need to call the multitasking menu to switch between programs, they do not reboot - you get a completely seamless experience of using.
Job
Anyone who has used the iPad for work, know which it is a painful experience. Typically, the implementation of any major problems on your tablet turned into an endless switching between tabbed Safari, which are reloaded when it is not necessary, and between applications via the menu multitasking. Such suffering is difficult to maintain for a long time, it is easier to get a laptop, or go to the computer.
With Split View can be lying in bed sketching out some drafts in Safari, parallel scanning performance record in the "Notes" or press releases in Mail. As promised Apple's, use of the experience in this case is completely besshoven, tightness, which previously could not get rid of, working on the iPad, - passed.
As strange as it may sound, but this approach increases productivity. On a computer, each of us a bunch of windows open, some even multiple monitors - and everywhere need our attention. On the iPad is much easier. Everything you see - is an application with which you are working and that you need at the moment.
Entertainment
Of course, Split View will be useful not only for the performance of work tasks. While watching your favorite movie, you can immediately open Safari and find out the name of the actor or the name of that song memorable. It can be used to search for a restaurant or tickets to a movie, while chatting with friends on FaceTime, or to lay in the "map" of the itinerary sent to the Mail.
Let's say you want to edit holiday photos to create an album. With Split View can simultaneously open the editor and Safari with the instructions or Player with video tutorials.
application management
Using Split View, you can quickly switch between programs gesture swipe from the edge of the screen or resize them by pulling on the window border.
In landscape mode, you can take applications for half of the screen, or 3/4 to give space to one and a quarter - to another. What is surprising, Split View also works in a vertical orientation, but without the possibility to choose the proportion of space for applications.
If it becomes necessary to switch from one application to full screen mode, it is easy to make a gesture of stretching in the right direction.
Very convenient that Split View remembers the location of the windows when switching applications. Let's say you work in Safari, open next to the "Notes", and then switched to "Messages" to respond to the other party. When you return to Safari, its window as the window "Notes", will be in the same place.
restrictions
At the Split View the time is not ideal. The function is limited and works only with the built-in iOS applications. However, Apple has opened the appropriate API, which is allow third party developers to add their support to Split View application.
Many are already working on this, so we are likely to see more applications that support the Split View, in the near future. With the expansion of database applications such future productive work on the iPad will become better and better.
You will be able to easily enjoy YouTube close to Twitter, Evernote next to Chrome or Pages with your online banking application. These combinations make the iPad a useful tool for work that can really replace your laptop ever.
Refusal of PC
Even at the launch of the first iPad Apple presented it as a device era post-PC - ultra-portable gadget which can do everything from surfing the Internet to video editing and writing novels. All these possibilities are hampered by the lack of true multitasking. The turning point in this should be the iOS 9.
Given the announcement of the iPad Pro and its early appearance in the sale, all this becomes more and more sense. With branded keyboard Smart Keyboard iPad becomes almost a laptop. And this is only the beginning!
