Something a long time since I did not write about games for Macs. MEND.
So, Fieldrunners... This toy, created under the touch platform (iPhone / iPod touch) refers to the adored me genre desktop tower defence (DTD, not to be confused with GTD!), almost the only representative of which is a Mac Hordes of Orcs, known for his graphics in the style of "pluck the eye."
Introduced for the iPhone Besiegement suffered from the same problems, in addition allocated little adapted for the platform interface, including precedents were clearly unhealthy. Unfortunately, the opportunity to see live Fieldrunners has not yet been, but videos and screenshots look promising, and reviews about the game very positive. At least for me, the appearance of such a toy - one more reason to look at the "tacham". Game suschestvet only in the mobile version, and in the near future "desktop" version is not expected. It's a pity…
Aquaria - quite an interesting project, it's almost become protracted. Briefly, the story is this: a pair of developers decided to make toy with unusual geymleya. In 2007, the Windows version of Aquaria was published, winning the competition of independent IGF games. it is not surprising that the game about the adventures of a mermaid quickly gathered around him enough creative community, which immediately began for the creation of graphics, music, and even the "explanation" of games. Among the features of Aquaria can distinguish fine were drawn graphics, user-friendly interface, unusual gameplay and great music (which all promise to issue a separate disk). In May 2007 it was announced the creation of the Mac port, which will distribute the notorious Ambrosia, and just a year later began closed beta testing. Since then, virtually no information about the port have been reported. I am hoping sincerely that Aquaria for Mac version still appear until the very impatient can drive Windows demo under CrossOver.
FROM World of Goo the situation is similar. Having started as a eksperimeriment, the game has managed to quickly gain popularity and high ratings on gaming portals, becoming a finalist in this year of the same IGF (independent games festival). So far, the Mac and Linux versions are promised "later", Windows version is quite efficient at the same CrossOver. I hope that the wait is long.
Ah yes, the game... The idea is simple: to hold a group of "little sticky widgets" (another description to think hard :)) from one point to another card with the proviso that the characters can be organized into some shaky design. In words may seem complicated, but in fact it's much more fun: connect the brain, read the introduction to each level and try to solve the funny and not too tricky puzzles.
At present, that's all.
