1. Keep exposure
Picture quality depends on the light. You can remove the bad well-lit object, but never will take a good picture in low light.
While shooting the light passes through the open shutter and lens, falls on the sensor and forms an image. As it captures the light and what will be the final photo depends on three important parameters that make up the so-called triangle of exposure.
- Diaphragm It affects the amount of light that enters the lens. Measured by the ratio of focal distance to the size of the diaphragm aperture and is denoted as f / 2, f / 5, f / 11 and so on. The lower the aperture, the more light will be in the frame. This setting also affects the depth of field.
- excerpt - this is the time during which the shutter remains open. Measured in seconds (1/200 second, 1/60 second, 5 seconds, etc.). The longer the exposure - the more light. More exposure affects the sharpness when shooting moving objects. At high exposure, they will be blurred, and the short exposure will provide good photos even fast-moving subjects.
- photosensitivity - as the name implies, this setting affects the camera sensor sensitivity to light. Measured in ISO units (e.g., ISO 100, ISO 400, 6400 ISO). Large sensitivity allows you to shoot at low light, but it causes noise - typical grainy appearance.
The essence of the exposure triangle - in the understanding of these three aspects of shooting and selecting parameters corresponding to the situation as well as your vision frame.
2. Holding your camera
The next thing you need to learn all newcomers - is to hold the camera so as to exclude or minimize hand shake. When shooting the shutter opens and the light hits the camera's sensor. If you are moving into a time when the shutter is open, the beam of light as it spreads over the sensor and the photo is blurry.
The smaller the movement and shaking - the sharper the image.
Professional Camera best to keep putting on the palm of one hand and resting her elbow. With a smartphone should do likewise: firmly grasp it with both hands and press them as much as possible to the body. Well, if you're shooting in low light conditions or at slow shutter speeds, it is best to use a good tripod.
3. Follow the rule of thirds
One look at the picture often enough to figure out who did it - a beginner or an experienced photographer. Professionals pay much attention compositions in the frame, and the newcomer immediately will give her absence.
The simplest principle of composition - is the observance of the rule of thirds. Its essence lies in the conventional division of the frame by two horizontal and two vertical lines. Along these lines, or at their intersection should be placed the important elements, which will stop the eye when viewing a photo.
The photo above is the distance along the shore of the upper grid line, and a lone tree - exactly in the crosshairs of vertical and horizontal lines. If the photographer put the tree and the coast line in the center of the frame, the image will not be so interesting.
4. change perspective
Remove the object from the eye level - the surest way to make a boring photo. From this point we see the world every day.
To create a really interesting picture, you need only change the view. This will require:
- change the height of the shooting - closer to the ground or move away from it;
- change the angle - shoot strictly directly or by;
- change the distance - to get closer or, on the contrary, to move away;
The beauty of these tips is that they work well both individually and in any combination.
Golf ball, shot from a height of human growth, not have your attention attracted. And here is a photo from the ground attracts the eye, forcing consider each piece of grass.
5. Do not neglect post-processing
Picture processing is often considered to be a radical change in the original pictures using powerful filters and effects. This misunderstanding has led to what some photographers refuse to retouch, limited to "natural" pictures. Their good intentions are laudable, but they just do not understand how cameras work.
Like it or not, but the camera performs post-processing of the image. The actual data collected from the sensor RAW-fileBut what we see on the screen of the camera or smartphone - an interpretation of RAW-data device itself. The camera does not have a clue about your vision of a frame. So why not fix it?
Not every post-processing - it is tasteless perefotoshoplennye image. Correctly as retouching application of makeup. Someone overdoing rouge and lipstick and other cosmetics used as a way of self-expression, and few emphasize their best features.
And post-processing can be excessive, intentionally or stylized refined and emphasizes only what is already present in the frame. Use touch-up! Underestimating it, you run into a situation where all your pictures will be something not to be missed.
6. Shoot often and all in a row
No matter how many video tutorials on YouTube you have viewed and how many images in Instagram We analyzed. Only practice makes it possible to improve.
Day of practice is worth a year theory.
Your first photo will suck. You may have to make thousands of shots before you get one that you enjoy. But each of them - even the worst - will be one of small steps to mastery. Practice not only help to use the theoretical knowledge, but also will allow to better understand their equipment, will give an understanding of how various shooting parameters affect the final image.
7. Do not blame the camera
Good equipment is really important for the shooting, but not as much as you think. An experienced photographer can make great shots even on a cheap camera, while the poor will not work even in the most expensive equipment.
Much more important to rely on the correct exposure, working with perspective, composition, and use the tips, which were discussed above. If you learn all this, you can do cool photos on any camera. Even on a smartphone!
Of course, all the equipment has its limitations, and over time you will "outgrow" their camera, lens and other accessories, but the point is that, having bought an expensive camera, you will not be professional. And the sooner you realize this, the faster will succeed.
