Video performance at TEDGlobal Michael Porter, a professor of business school, in which he talks about why to solving social problems better handle not charitable organizations and foundations, to which we are accustomed, and to business. Why? Because business is always a finite and quite tangible goal - profit. He appreciates the time and thus solve the problem much faster and better.
We are accustomed to the fact that most social problems does not solve the business and non-profit or charitable organizations. Unfortunately, they solve problems quickly enough, and those who need help, and sometimes just do not wait for it. That's who really can quickly deal with everything, so it just commercial organizations.
Why? Because they, unlike the non-profit, always work income, see the target more and think more strategically.
Michael Porter, a professor at the Business School, talks about how the actual state of affairs, if you dig a little deeper.
In his speech, Porter affects only a few common problems and results in a more industrial examples. I want to remind you the example of Google, Apple and Microsoft, which have developed a huge number of programs and devices, which greatly facilitated the lives of people with disabilities. Yes, they did not do it for free, but thanks to them, the rather symbolic price, people can enjoy those of before and never dreamed of, and, finally, begin to live a full life!
