Kasita - compact city home of the new format
A Life / / December 19, 2019
What can be learned less than a year spent in a large container for household waste?
Housing should be cheaper, and it should be moving. So you stop moaning from rent and spend hours getting to work God knows where.
These conclusions came Jeff Wilson (Jeff Wilson), teacher of the University of Huston-Tillotson, at the end of its voluntary "confinement". Just look at this happy man at the time of this unusual experiment! Morning crashing cars, garbage trucks him uneasy, however, as a particular odor from the neighboring tanks.
By the way, now for Jeff stuck the nickname "Professor Musorka» (Professor Dumpster; dumpster - Large container Dempster Brothers manufacturer). And along with it - and the position of CEO, Kasita, Has developed a very unconventional idea of a modern housing, which combines iconic design and innovative technology. Let's find out the details.
And we begin, I think, with the most important - mobility. Kasita house consists of two parts: a metal frame and a compact-blocks of apartments. The advantages of this design lie on the surface.
- Each accommodation can get and move to another rack in any part of the world, if there is a free cell. It's enough to order a truck through a special application for the iPhone.
- No need to pack your things, hire a courier service and to settle down again on arrival. Your utensils will not be lost, and repairs are not affected.
The base of a three-story house is about 100 m2. Thus, it can be fit even in densely populated existing building, or on a previously unused unsuitable plot.
The reverse side of the coin - a small footage of apartments themselves. The area of each box is equal to 19.3 m2. It may seem that this is too little, however, and there are a number of winning factors.
- Low price. According to the authors of the project, the price drop at least half. And it is very impressive money when it comes to the central areas of major cities.
- "This is six times more than the capacity of that same garbage box" - jokes Jeff Wilson.
- Small spool but precious. Interior fittings apartment envy any "full" housing.
The latter, of course, is to talk separately. Take, for example, the usual wall of the home. It consists of separate functional tiles, each of which can be sacrificed for the sake of space. Would you like TV? Remove two empty rows of three tiles. Do you want a mirror? Then three of the two. In general, customization.
The apartment is crammed with fashionable clever contraption with voice control. Since light is turned on, run your favorite playlist or bed rolls. Of course, over time, options are expanded.
Just in case I will mention that there is a kitchen, toilet, washing machine and other common amenities in each block. However, water and electricity come "antiquated" method - through the usual urban highways connected to the rack Kasita. Perhaps a little later the focus shifted in favor of "green" technologies, as is done in Ecocapsule - Autonomous mobile housing for two. But it will happen no earlier than spring 2016. It is at this time, the first house is scheduled to open Kasita in the US Austin, Texas.
Further frames will install a dozen other US cities and even in Stockholm, Sweden. Wished the project a quick success, I would be interested to watch him. And you?
