These studies affected the degree of life satisfaction of respondents and showed that people who use Facebook less satisfied with their lives than those who are not connected with the brainchild of Mark Zuckerberg. In this area it was carried out a lot of research, but the research was as a cross section. In other words, there was a short stage of time, and it was quite difficult to say whether the meaning of such findings. Experiment Cross and Verdyuna is the first experiment that observes the Facebook users for a long time and trying to track how they are changing.
Researchers recruited 82 Facebook user for analysis. Volunteers aged 15 to 20 years, agreed to supervise their Facebook activity for two weeks and 5 times Day reported on his state of mind, contacts in Facebook and direct social contacts (phone calls, meetings with friends).
The experiment showed that the more volunteers use Facebook, the worse they feel, fill in the following form. At the same time, volunteer profiles with a large number of direct social contacts showed greater satisfaction with life. That is, the greater the "real" contact, the better the volunteers were feeling.
Also, it was found that the most common emotion that is Facebook, is envy. Endless comparisons with other people can actually have a negative impact on our lives. But it is also worth noting that these studies are more significant for the younger generation. Older people are more experienced and consequently less envious and malleable. Or not?
