You probably have plans, goals, dreams, which you persist in trying to achieve. You get frustrated when you do not get it? If so, I want to share with you a brief but important idea.
I learned it from a book the retired Special Forces officer SEAL Joko Villinka "Discipline - is freedom». The idea is very simple: to complain of circumstances, when things do not go the way you want, it is useless. However, the author is not handing out advice like "do not complain," he understands that we need something more, to really change their own behavior.
I do not know if you've tried before to start to avoid complaints once and for all. Every time I tried to do it myself, I have not really worked. And I realized that from this tendency will not get rid of the day.
If you want to stop complaining, you have to change your habits.
If it's bad, and you're frustrated and continue to whine, try to focus on the positive aspects that can be found in the current situation. How to do it? You say to yourself, "well", when something goes wrong.
- Mission canceled? Okay, we focus on the other.
- Have not received increase? Well, there will be more time for self-improvement.
- You do not give funds? Well, the company now you should.
- We did not get the job? Good. Type of experience, make a resume.
- You hurt yourself? Good. And so it was time to take a break from training.
- You beat? Good. Better in training than in a street fight.
- Lost? Good. Learning from mistakes.
- Sudden trouble? Good. We have a chance to come up with a way out.
You get the idea? From every trouble, you can take advantage. Just train yourself to think so, and eventually you completely change your thinking.
A few years ago I decided to stop complaining about once and for all. As usual advice, I started small. And at first all went well. Who cares that the rain falls today? Or that you smashed your favorite coffee mug? You buy a new one! Do not worry about small things easily.
But when there is something more serious, just forget about this a promise "not to complain." And it is a problem. Therefore, your resistance is not determined indifference to small problems, and the ability to handle large. How do you stay when you comprehend biggest failure? Do you still complain? Or you enough trained your mind to focus on the positive aspects?
It took me about two years to learn it. Earlier, when I have something went wrong in his personal life or business, I'd start whining - at least mentally. But now, when everything goes wrong, I see it as a challenge. All thanks to the method formulated by Djoko.
When there is X (bad thing), do Y (good, useful, positive action).
This, of course, does not pull on the Nobel theory. I do not pretend that this method - the best that has been thought up since the invention of the wheel. I just found this exercise very useful. I have read dozens of books about positive thinking, but none of them worked - to book Joko.
So do not give up and just keep moving forward. When you do this, you will not even have time to complain.
