On conference Google I / O Google and JBL introduced a new hybrid Android TV device. JBL Link Bar - it's more than just a set-top box. It's also a full-fledged smart speaker.
JBL Link Bar has an ever-active long-range microphones, through which you can give voice commands Google Assistant. No matter where your television set with the prefix - in a small room or a huge living room, - JBL Link Bar hear you, suffice it to say: «Hey Google». So that only the voice, without any remote you can control the prefix, if desired. Although the remote control is also supported.
JBL Link Bar has minimal outside - matt black surface and a mesh front panel. Prefix well fit into any decor.
A nice feature JBL Link Bar - just the presence of four HDMI-connector on the rear panel, between which you can switch by means of voice commands. In addition, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, a 3.5 mm audio output jack and a USB Type-C. The device supports both Android TV, and Chromecast, moreover, all sources are operated simultaneously. You will receive a notification and call Google Assistant, whilst watching TV.
At the top of the device there are four touch-sensitive buttons and one physical. The first button is used to switch between the HDMI inputs. The second - a multifunctional Bluetooth button, with which you can connect your phone to play music or create a pair with a wireless remote control. The next two buttons control speaker volume. Finally, the physical button is a switch for long-range microphones (a kind of analogue of the Google Home).
JBL Link Bar will be on sale this fall, but Google and the JBL has not yet announced the approximate price.
