As part of the Developer Conference F8 Mark Zuckerberg announced the start of sales of second-generation VR-headset, which was announced late last year. New solution is fully autonomous and does not require connection to a PC and additional devices.
Oculus Go was created in partnership with Xiaomi and has on board all that is necessary to dive into virtual reality. The helmet is equipped with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels and an optical reduction system reflections, and for calculating the quad processor responds Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 3 GB memory.
New also has a set of sensors to track user movements and built-in speakers, through which you can not use the optional headphones. Helmet is running Android 7.1 and is compatible with the library Oculus content. Programs and games installed in it through the mobile app for iOS or Android.
The new headset weighs only 470 grams and barely felt on the head. To interact with the virtual reality is a special controller that comes in the kit. It tracks the movement in space, has a touch panel and a few physical buttons.
Oculus Go presented in versions with 32 and 64 GB of internal storage and costs 199 and 249 dollars respectively. The headset went on sale in 23 countries around the world, but Russia is not yet available.
