Thing of the day: Yaw VR - motion simulator in a virtual reality
Devices / / December 19, 2019
VR-headset with a high degree of realism is immersed in a virtual reality, but with a simulation of movement inside the game world until there is a problem. Yaw VR creators are trying to solve them with the chair-cup position in space, which is synchronized with the movements of a person in virtual reality.
Simulator with a futuristic design of the two halves of the sphere takes up little space in the room and can be easily folded. "Shucks," set one on another, and a soft seat and arm leg hidden inside. The whole structure weighs less than 15 kg and completely noiseless in operation.
Upper bowl Yaw VR is on three rotating supports, due to which there is a change in the position of the player in the space. The dome is free to rotate 360 degrees horizontally and can be tilted in any direction by 24 degrees. Is controlled by a separate unit, is based on open source code SimTools.
At the moment, the simulator works with 80 games and applications. However, the developers promise to extend this list in the future, as well as support for PlayStation VR, Oculus Go and Samsung Gear VR.
Order Yaw VR can be on Kickstarter for 990 dollars. Delivery will begin in August.
