WhatsApp can crack the MP4-file

The Facebook-owned the messenger WhatsApp found a new critical vulnerability that allows access to smartphone users using the MP4-file. About it reports Gadgets 360 °.

Specially crafted MP4 file when opening the device allows you to remotely run malicious code from executing, and initiate a DoS-attack. Attackers are able not only to steal confidential data, but also to organize the surveillance of the user.

We found a vulnerability in the application WhatsApp version 2.19.274 to 2.19.100 for Android and for iOS. To protect themselves from these threats, users are advised to update immediately the messenger, and follow the release of updates.
