In Russia, you can now confirm payments to your face

In Russia came a new way of confirmation of contactless payment - using pre-made selfie. New payment system SWiP launched in Russia in partnership with VisionLabs, does not require the user to any action when you pay: all the checks pass on the service side.

Developers from VisionLabs created for SWiP advanced face detection system. The general concept of the payment system is as follows: once the user specifies in the mobile apps your payment cards, as well as making selfie and stores it in the database.

It is further assumed that a person comes to an authorized point of sale payment system, and there special camera scans his face and compares the data with the previously made and confirmed a selfie rejects the payment.

Money is debited automatically, the user does not even need to take the smartphone. There is also a more traditional way of confirmation of payment - through scanning QR-code.

According to the developers, for the recognition of real human persons responsible VisionLabs LUNA technology. It will prevent the substitution of a real person on the photo. It is planned to add these cameras in 250 public retail outlets in Moscow and St. Petersburg. A full launch is expected in early June. Now only a handful of schools and shops in these two cities are working in test mode with SWiP support.
