We constantly share to you tips on how to pump Dropbox or get 50GB on box.net. But you, our readers, are faced with problems, which we simply do not see, or do not have such a need. Our friend Arseniy Finberg @myshyak told us about how to 50GB has circulated box.net, he was faced with mounting received the "cloud" in the file system of its desktop OS.
Wife yesterday has put in front of me an interesting challenge. She accumulated 20 gigs of photos in many years, and they are stored only at home, "Pour it to me, please, somewhere in the cloud».
The first thing began to look much. My favorite dropbox even after prokachek free gives to 10GB, and for this task, it is not enough. I found an interesting option. Box.net - when registering with any smartphone (Android, IPhone) gives the right to 50 Gb free.
One bad luck - the desktop client is available only in the paid version. But, digging in the depths of the Internet, I found a reference that is available to users free access protocol WebDav. Next is a simple affair - it turned out that in Windows, which in MacOs includes support for this protocol, and external storage from Box.net, you can connect as a normal network drive. I'll tell you how I did it on Windows 7.
1. Right-click on My Network Places → Add network drive. We get a window like this
In the way of introducing http://box.net/dav (or https://box.net/dav). Click "Next" - get the input box login and password:
We enter the data that we used to box.net. And voila - in standard window "My Computer" there is one more drive.
You can connect multiple computers to use and at the same time. For Windows XP, you may need special patch from Microsoft for normal operation.
In macOS too easily: in the Finder, press Command-K (or Go - → Connect to Server). In the Server Address enter https://www.box.net/dav/ and press Connect. Then enter your login and password, and also will be all right!
I, however, prefer to use Total Commander, which also have plug-in support WebDav (* .zip).
