Often, coming to the gym, I see that the place near the balance is greater than near any of the simulators. But weighed again not only pointless in a few days, but also harmful. Below I will tell you why.
Most of all, of course, changes in the weight of the next girl. Extra 200-300 grams on the scales turn into tears, pain and hard diet, which usually do not last more than a few days. Indeed, after the scale showed the old figure, you can calm down.
In fact, the most useless thing you can do, trying to watch their weight - is to pay attention to the balance.
Why scales are useless
a huge number of factors influence your weight. The day number on the scale can be changed five or even more times due to:
- food eaten;
- drunk water;
- clothing;
- sweating;
- the number of times you go to the bathroom.
I have often noticed that after a workout in the gym, some people run to the scales to see how much they have lost weight. Sometimes the figure is really to be smaller, but only because of the fluid, which is displayed along with the sweat. For example, before writing this article, I decided to check how to change my weight after exercise, and saw that he, on the contrary, is growing due to the large amount of water that I drink.
Consider the scale as a tool for the analysis of its weight worth in the long run. For example, weighing every few weeks.
Why weigh yourself often harmful
Remember how you felt when he saw that the figure on the scale increased. Certainly depressed and frustrated. Even more it could be aggravated by the fact that you really worked hard in the gym a few days and only ate the right food. As you understand, measure weight in the short term is meaningless. But why is it harmful?

What can replace the scales
If you want to monitor the progress, there are better ways to do it:
- Before and after pictures. The best way to see how you have changed over time - is to compare themselves with themselves in the past. Looking at a photograph taken a month before, you'll see what kind of results could make, whether to adjust diet or change training program. It is best to take pictures at the same location in the same clothes and the environment.
- Measurements. Centimeter also more effective than the scales. Measure costs such areas as chest, waist, hips. If you follow a set of muscle mass, it is also possible to measure the volume of the biceps or quadriceps. On the circumference of your body parts only affects the amount of fat, muscle and water. Far fewer factors than when weighing, right?
- The state of health. If you feel that you become more energetic and cheerful, you can use this feeling as his own measure of progress. Who cares if your weight changed and the parameters? If you feel good, everything else does not matter.
Forget about weights. If you are not an athlete competitor, they did not do any good, but on the contrary, will take the energy and motivation. Instead, choose any of the methods suggested above, but it is best to be guided by their own feelings.
