Chore stress communicating with a large number of people, hidden from the stress of winter, "caps" and the cold + eternal opposition of those who have "a glass half empty "and those for whom always full of not only glass, but other aspects of life - all of which can cause you to turn in completed pessimist. If you look closely, the reasons for pessimism and even depression enough: just enough to look at our economy and state of the labor market (but we will not go into this topic, or run the risk of life hacking go to politics and economics). However, there are several ways how to set up not only to the "filtering" of the negative but also the positive perception of reality (even such difficult as ours).
In what lies the real source of optimism?
Each person has his own set of rules and templates for the interpretation of certain events that affect him or her. Pessimists are much easier to find a reason for sadness, and optimists - to find reasons for joy; and there is nothing strange.
All the matter in the initial setup, which we apply to even the most seemingly basic things. It is clear that war, disease or death not only grieve, but also frighten people, make them feel not only physical but also mental suffering. However, for some reason, most of the people around us prefer to make a tragedy out of the fact that they are stuck in a "traffic jam" on the way to work, or to enjoy only when they are back in the indefinite future to save money on your new machine. As a result, a chronic feeling "unhappy" borrows from pessimistic person most of the time.
Optimists create for themselves "little rules" by which they perceive the same situation otherwise: "Every day that you are on the ground rather than beneath it - is cause for great mood" (as in proverb).
Create for themselves "little rule of optimism '
To set yourself up for a positive perception of reality, does not need to resort to soothing drugs, neurostimulator, or get hung up on finding the positive in everything that you would not It happened. Small enough rules of behavior and perception in relation to this or that situation in your life (is - as an exercise, we must accustom ourselves to them at first, but then it becomes easier):
1. Sit down and write a list of your rules
Take a pen and a sheet of paper (no computers and monitors) and record their own "little rules" in the format of the following statements that are divisible by 2 types:
- "I feel miserable when there sleduyuscheee:... (and the list in a column)"
- "I feel happy when... (and again in the column list)"
Much larger lists do not have to be. The accuracy and completeness of the list is less important than the actual feelings and emotions that are transmitted through these "small Rules ": It is important that first comes to mind in the formation of the concept of" negative emotion "and" positive emotion".
2. Pay attention to the results
Compiled lists? Now sit down and re-read to get the result as if it did not write you, as an outsider. What feeling arise? I wrote there is a pessimist or an optimist? Such a person is just easier to be happy or feel miserable?
Proof that such a self-examination work is the very fact that you made it to this stage. If you're somewhere in the depths of the soul did not feel that there is something you do not like his attitude to life, not "climbed" would go so far in this exercise.
Most often, it turns out that a part (or even a large part of) your expectations from life significantly understated because you have subconsciously ready to the fact that it does not work, and not to be upset once again, you just do not make any steps toward what you frustrating.
3. Recycle your rules towards improving
And now is the time to show a little creativity. Take the second piece of paper, take a deep breath and ask yourself again:
- What everyday events can give you the feeling of happiness?
- Which non-standard events can you make you feel miserable?
Formulate answers to these questions - an important task. Consider all the possibilities and give answers to what you would like to see in your life. On the first question is to list as many things, events and phenomena. A second list make it short: include only the most serious and really sad event.
When you're done to make lists, their "rules of optimism" rewrite in the following format:
- "I am happy when... [event]"
- "I am unhappy only if... [event]"
The wording here is important. As a result, you get 2 sheets of paper: one "rule pessimist" in which you now live, on the other - the "rules of the optimist", for which you would like to live and you want to believe in further.
4. Now burn the old rules
Sounds a bit odd and childish, but a mere "ritual burning of" unnecessary rules more works, and here's why.
Over the past more than 125 thousand years of human history, one of the distinctive human skill was the ability to control fire. Fire has become a part of rituals, religions and rituals - from the native idols, and to the Catholic Church. The importance of fire in human life laid on a subconscious level in generations of people and burning - a way translate something materialized (as words on paper) into something intangible (to make everything "and took no back "). Burn the past attitude to life - a small ritual that will serve as a kind of emotional discharge.
5. The new rules place so that they will come across your eyes on a daily basis
Place the old rules should take new ones. Sheet with the new rules attach next to your desk, next to a computer monitor or near the mirror in the bathroom. Make your every day begins with involuntary reading these rules, your writing from the hand of a rule you are blurts / were read each day by setting up his mind on the perception of the reality in the first place positive rather than negative its sides.
The key is to be optimistic, healthier lifestyles, new opportunities in life and work - in your hands, just try it!
