Leo Babauta pondered why our great ideas do not survive.
He gives 6 tips on how to prevent such ideas die out over time.
How many times have you visited the great ideas that you did not have realized? How many times have you wanted to change something, but he did not do it?
Many reproach myself for not having execute our plans and do not change their habits.
How many times I have been inspired by something, but then threw these thoughts. I wanted to run a marathon, to write a book, start a blog, to lose weight, pay off debt, and so on. E., But it never did.
I was busy, tired, I had a huge number of other cases. In short, it had plenty of excuses.
I found a way to overcome themselves and performed all of the above during the year. I started to act, forgetting excuses.
Here are some tips I can give you:
- Tell someone about your plans. Pondering something yourself, you do not bind itself and can so nothing to do. Immediately tell anyone about his plans.
- Dedicate time. Many people neglect this step. You need to set aside time for a new occupation, even if it's just 10 minutes a day. Think of when you start and what action will be preceded this. Even if your every day is not like the previous one, there are things that you have yet to do regularly: wake up, take a shower / wash your face, brush your teeth, eat breakfast, you start the computer, go to work / school, go to sleep. Immediately made a note in the diary.
- Start small. Many make the mistake of trying for the first time to give everything to the full, because the inspiration is in full swing! But you probably will not succeed, if you are thinking to dedicate a new case just for an hour or two a day. Even half an hour - it's too much for the beginning. Start with 5-10 minutes. Yes, even with two, if too busy. Already two minutes can always be cut out.
- Grasp seriously. Often, everything falls apart because the people come to the matter seriously enough. Here you shared with someone plans and think that now certainly do it, but it is not. If you really are determined to write about it / start a blog. Post it wherever possible, tell a hundred people. Put the money, tell them sing in public, if you fail the job. Make people you liable.
- Remind yourself. A new business is easy to forget. If, say, you're going to start to run immediately get up, prepare the reminder of the evening: put shoes in the bed or in the hallway, spread around the shape. You can even sleep in this form! Hang a pointer to the conspicuous place, attach the stickers with a reminder to the computer. You can put a reminder in your phone.
- Take a break if you start to take time off. Be sure there will be times when you think something like: "Tomorrow will do." They should not be ignored. Stop and think deeply about what you are afraid, why stopped. Be sure there will be some inconvenience, which you'll want to avoid. Do not go at them on occasion, but rather smile and move on. Enjoy what you are doing. You'll like it!
