Remember when you were a child? To do what was done. No one asked, what are the advantages of playing basketball in comparison with the game of football. Just ran out into the yard after school and played the first football, then basketball. Build sand castles, asking stupid questions, We are playing catch-up, Catching bugs and get dirty puddles.
Notice, no one told me that all these need to be addressed. But everyone pushed forward his own curiosity and enthusiasm. What it was great: tired of hide and seek - and right, throw play. Without the additional complexities of guilt, much debate and argument. Do not like it - do not play.
Who liked to catch the insects that they catch. No one engaged in introspection. For once in my head there was a question: "Is the study of insects natural pastime for a child? No one in the whole yard does not catch the beetles can, to me that something is wrong? As my passion will affect the future? "
This is nonsense in my head did not appear. It would be a desire, but a question of "to do or not to do" did not stand.
For a year, I received almost 12,000 letters from people who do not know what to do. And ask advice, wait, I'll tell you how they find a businessWhich they will do with all the passion.
Of course, I do not answer. Why? Yes, because I would not know?! If you have no idea what to do with myself, where did this notion appear at some guy with a website? I write articles, not predict the future.
But to say something, I still want to.
You do not know what to do. And this is the whole point of ignorance. Life is such that no one knows, but everyone does. Everything is so.
And nothing changes when you suddenly realize how to enjoy work scavengers or want to write scripts for auteur cinema.
All these people-know-nothings think they just need to find their calling.
Full of hi. You have already found, but it stubbornly ignore. Seriously, you 16 hours a day awake, what do you do all this time? You are doing something, about something talk. There is a topic that is in your head sits prevails in conversation, takes time off. You about something on the Internet reading. Something paying attention, looking for information.
Everything under your nose, but you turn away. It does not matter why, but you do not want to notice. Well, yes, and say, "I love to read comics, but it does not count. The same can not earn. "
You do not say! Have you ever tried?
The root of the evil is not in the lack of enthusiasm or passion. But with the productivity you have a problem. FROM perception of the obvious, With the adoption of reality.
Problems in the head:
- Oh, it's unreal.
- My mother will kill, I should arrive at the doctor.
- Well this a BMW will not earn.
In general, the mission has nothing to do with it. All set priorities.
Oh, who said that you have to earn the money that you love? Since when did everything become obliged to love every second of your work? What's wrong with the normal work in a good team and the free time that you spend on calling? The world stood on its head, or it is no longer a new idea?
Here is a bitter truth: in any work full revelation of nasty moments. It does not exist in nature so exciting things, from which you will never get tired, because of which will not be nervous, that will not complain. He is not here.
Personally, I have my dream job. And I never planned that I would deal with it. I found it by accident, like a child: he took and started doing. And I still hate 30 percent of what is necessary to do. And sometimes more.
What to do, life is like that.
You are too much waiting. Do you think that you will spend 70 hours on the job, sleeping in the office as Steve JobsAnd enjoy every second of your business? Congratulations, you've reviewed too many motivational films.
If you think you can wake up every day and jump out of the pajamas with joy, you go to work, you generally can not perceive the information critically. This is a completely unrealistic assumptions.
Life is arranged differently. Everything you need for work - routine balance and pleasure.
I have one friend who has the last three years trying to build a business on the Internet, selling everything. Nothing worked. In the sense that no project has not been launched. Years passed, each "worked", nothing was done.
I remember only one occasion when he was able to finish the job. One of his former colleagues ordered a logo and promotional materials for the project activities. Each stuck to the task like a fly to the adhesive tape. How it worked! Getting up at four in the morning, I worked without a break, only every second and thought about the order. And after the completion of the work again I said, "I do not know, now I do."
How many of these people I've ever met. They do not have to look for their vocation, it is in front of them, but no one is watching him. No one believes in the viability of the hobby.
Everyone is afraid of just at least try.
The analogy is this. Imagine, as a botanist comes to the playground and says: "I love bugs, but Major League players earn millions, so I'm going to force myself every day to play football." And then complains that he does not like the break in which he is forced to play sports.
What nonsense. Everyone likes change. But he blindly set myself limits, guided by vague ideas about success.
I also get a bunch of emails with questions about how to become a writer. My answer is the same: I have no idea.
As a child, I wrote short stories for fun. As a teenager, I wrote music reviews and essays about their favorite bands, but no one did not show their creativity. When the Internet has conquered the world, I wrote messages in the forums for hours, making multipage posts on any topic, from pickups for guitars to the causes of the war in Iraq.
I never thought I'd be write professionally. I do not even think that this is my hobby and my vocation. I thought that my passion - that's what I am writing: music, politics, philosophy. And I wrote, simply because it was written.
And when it's time to choose a profession that I would love to, I did not have to search long. She chose me, she was with me that what I did that every day since he was a child, not even thinking about what I'm doing.
Here's another one bitter revelation: if you had a compass to search for his vocation, then you are likely to make a mistake.
Because if you're obsessed with something, it is a familiar part of life. And you do not even notice that not all of these are addicted and not everyone is interested. We need a view from the outside.
Me and had no idea that no one else gets high from very long posts on the forums. My friend could not even imagine that few people want to engage in the creation of the logo. For him, it is so natural that he did not understand, how could it be otherwise. And that's why he should do it.
The child does not think before going for a walk, as if he entertained. He goes and plays.
And if you need to think what you like, then you can, nothing like it.
But this is not the case. The truth is that you have something to enjoy. Do you already like very, very much. Just you decide not to pay attention to it.
