If you know how some habits influence others, you can learn how to effectively manage them.
Usually the most important habits cause a chain reaction and affect other areas of life. For example, exercise. In the short term effects of exercise is not the most pleasant: you are all hurt, it remains less time for other activities. But what eventually comes through sport, it is necessary to deal with them. You have more energy, you become happier and live longer.
Bad habits such as binge eating have the opposite effect. Immediately you enjoy plenty of food, but soon no longer enough energy to work and hobbies. If you stop to control the habit, then your life expectancy is reduced.
Habit can be called important for two reasons:
- The fact that it gives you, makes your life better - if you keep doing what you like.
- Its effects make your life worse - if you have the desire to get rid of it.
Imagine that we have identified five basic habits that good or bad for life. In this case three of them - useful: exercise, meditation, reading. Two more - harmful: alcohol and overeating.
During the week, make sure that any immediate and long-term effects have on you your habits. See which ones make you more productive, creative and happy, and which have the opposite effect.
Note ingrained habits affect each other. For example, excessive drinking and overeating deprive you of energy, which is why you do not want to have so much to meditate, read and play sports. But the constant meditation had a positive impact on other habits: through awareness you drink less alcohol and do not overeat.
Important habits may be associated with each other in very different ways:
Make it so that they were always in front of your eyes. For example, write down the habits on the board. So you'll be more likely to think about how they affect your work and life. It will be easier to adjust their habits.
