Books / / December 19, 2019
To tell the truth, in this book I was attracted not name, and its author - Neil Fiore. I read his book "Easy way to stop to postpone the case until later." Last book I liked, and I decided to take a new product - "The psychology of personal effectiveness." What, in fact, he has not regretted.
Neil Fiore
Ph.D Neil Fiore It specializes in health psychology, as well as on the question of success in the workplace and stress management. He has helped thousands of people as possible to discover their potential, advising both private customers and various organizations, including Bechtel, AT & T and Levi Strauss.
The author gives a method that will get rid of stress, improve performance, and learn to enjoy the work. If your work depresses you in the truest sense of the word may originally have to think about changing employment. Fiore believes that negative emotions from work largely related to guilt complex for recreation and procrastination.
This book presents seven principles of effective labor:
- Correction of existing habits. Of course, it is not all habits, but only of "bad". One striking example is the criticism. Do not waste your time in vain, criticize yourself or others for the already committed mistakes. It is better to concentrate on how to fix the situation.
- The law of reverse effort. If the complex problem can not be solved, it is necessary to change the way of its implementation.
If you push the door, but it does not open, try to pull over.
- Focus not on himself, but on the task. One of the fastest ways to increase productivity - immediately change position in karate, and focus on the problem.
- Instead of "to finish," say, "it's time to start". The word "right" has a very negative energy. Constant reminders of the need to complete the task leads you into a state of fatigue, irritability and even depression.
- Instead, "We need to finish the grueling and long project," say, "I'll work a minute for 15 minutes". Any person required breaks. At these moments, the brain shuts down, rest, and then switched to work with renewed vigor.
- Instead of the constant voltage vain certain parts of the brain fully use all of its components. Engage in complex and new challenges - it will allow you to exploit the potential of the brain as a whole.
- To act in accordance with your highest values and current goals. Forget about the rules and the framework. It's your job, and you know how to do it.
A separate chapter is devoted to the ability to manage your time. But my opinion on this matter at variance with the opinion of the author. Fiore says that compiling lists of cases adversely affect the working process and the plans have a negative impact on motivation. Efficiency drawing precise plans for the next day and generalized plans for the week / month I have checked personally on itself.
Summarizing all read, we get a very clear and structured book with a big list of ideas of how to improve personal effectiveness.
