1. What books are your favorite?
Books - because they like friends: grow and change with us. Every year transformed the literary habits and addictions. I not discover America if I say that the different books are good at different times. For example, I am 16 years old Nabokov captured and dragged through his novels, short stories, poems, letters, and even chess problems. This is probably the strongest of all my "book love", because the first.
When it comes to this writer, generally first of all I remember the novel "Lolita». But the truth is that if you want to understand Nabokov, this product should be read not in the first place. Relationship is best to start with a story (eg, "a busy man", "Potato Elf"), that they are the surest guide to the verbal and emotional world of the author.
2. Do you have a favorite author?
I do not have some sort of a universal set of books and authors that like a little black dress is always appropriate and well. But I can safely recommend Nabokov "
Masha"For a wonderful and subtle style, for the heartfelt longing for first love.Hess - "Siddhartha"Philosophical novel-parable of the spiritual journey of the Indian boys, where everyone will find something new answers. At Fannie Flagg - "Fried Green Tomatoes at the cafe "stop""One of the most warm and cozy novels about friendship, sincere love of people and honesty. Ideal for winter weekends.
3. With a book from childhood you have associated with the most fond memories?
As a child, she reads out to the holes "Pippi Longstocking"Astrid Lindgren," Mary Poppins "Pamela Travers and collections of tales of the peoples of the world. It seems that a lot of his children's books, and we take into adulthood.
4. What book are you re-read often and with pleasure?
Honestly, I can not recall a product, which would be re-read over the last year or two. There are so many new, and so many things I want to know, it's hard to go back to what is already familiar. But now I'd like to re-read "Siddhartha."
5. Which book is the most inspired you to some action?
This year, met two wonderful books that inspired and supported me a little more than others. The first - "Eat properly, run fast"Scott Jurek. This book is written sverhmarafontsem of running, nutrition and motivation. But inside it is much more than just a personal experience of victories and defeats. After this book, I ran my first 10 kilometers and a plan to move forward.
The second - "Daily life in North Korea"Barbara Demick. The book is inspired not in the conventional sense. It shows how the more things can be in the world. Serious journalistic research, which reads like a novel, and inspires meaningful.
6. Was the book from which you could not break away until you have read to the end?
I have an internal agreement with him, according to which I save the book if it is not. I read a few chapters and if you understand that that's very difficult, and I could not get into a rhythm, then simply save and then come back after some time.
Because of this I am constantly in a kind of "drinking bout book" and read at the same time about 5-7 books. This year, the most I can say drunken works Fredrik Backman "The second life of Uwe"And"Grandma told me to bow down and submit that asks for forgiveness"Novels with a typically Swedish humorous that at the very grumpy grumblers - the kindest heart in the world.
In the same list novels Fannie Flagg, where all the characters and inhabitants of the city like one big family with its own traditions, values, and mutual aid ( "Welcome to the world baby!», «What the whole town says»). And, of course, book the quartet Ferrante - perhaps the best story of friendship that the two Neapolitan girl sneaked through his whole life.
7. What book be sure to read each person and why?
I'm afraid that my answer will sound trite, but the Constitution.
8. What have you read recently, and why did you choose it?
The last feature - "Olga"Bernhard Schlink. Why this book? Simply, it was next on my list, which I make myself a year in advance, and are updated periodically. And because of the non-artistic - "Simply space"Catherine Lengold of system planning book, perfectly refreshing understanding of the personal effectiveness.
9. Which book has been helpful to you professionally? Why?
I am sure that all read useful in professional terms - to varying degrees, but it is useful. One of the most popular books on the work of the word - "Word of the living and the dead"Nora Gal, and another book on the process of setting up in projects or companies - has already become a classic"purpose"Eliyahu M. Goldratt.
10. What of the last read fiction books do you remember? Than?
Every week I read about 12-15 stories, from which selected two for the project "drawers». From my latest discoveries among the authors - Tove Jansson, Efraim Sevela and Ryunosuke Akutagawa. Until I found myself for some secret way can read it all, but developed rules, which are a little help:
- Three years ago I stopped reading professional literature, instead I listen to it (at the time of movement in the city, sport and walks). So it turns to "read" more books. However, some still have to go in hard copy to secure (so I had to "black swan"Nassim Taleb and Sapiens Harari).
- Pre-compile lists of anticipated books, short stories, authors, audiobooks. You'd be surprised how much time we spend only choice because I was ahead of time is determined by the basic options, and then add something new and interesting.
11. What is a good book you read on the advice of another person?
I have just completed "valley of the dolls"Which she read on the recommendation of Anastasia Zavozovoy, translator, one of the leading" Book Bazaar "podcast" Medusa ". Overall, great attitude to the recommendations, and I had a circle of people whose advice book hit the spot. Each year, New Year's forward posts with lists of reading, to carry out interesting finds in your list of books. :)
12. What do you prefer: paper, electronic, audio books?
I prefer, of course, paper books, but because of frequent relocations and displacements forced to read in electronic form. It was not easy and not very nice, but only as long as it discovered Bookmate. Since then, for three years now I use the application, and it seems that it is a long time.
13. Do you make a note if quotes are preserved, whether write reviews?
With great respect (read: good envy) belong to those disciplined people who are notes and brief sammari from books. Most of what I'm capable of - it save me having got the phrase in the application and, summing up the year, publish a list of reading, noting there are their favorites.
