Weekend Project: How to amplify the signal wi-fi router using tin
Do It Yourself Devices / / December 19, 2019
Many of you have seen the wonderful instructions on how to make the amplifier signal router wi-fi from a beer can. We decided to try and see how this thing actually strengthens it.
First you need to make this reflector. All actions described in the gallery below. Nothing much is not here.
For testing, I asked my assistant to stand on the balcony of the fifth floor at first simply with the router without a reflector. Then I left the house at a distance of 50 meters, and we fastened reflector. Signal strength measurements were made using the program iStumbler.
That's what we came (all measurements were in the direct line of sight without any interference):
1. This is normal operation of the router on the line of sight from the sixth floor of an ordinary house.
2. Then I began to walk away from the house, keeping the line of sight. The situation was corrected router so that I was in a plane perpendicular to the antenna.
3. The router was rejected to mount reflector made by us.
4. The measurement continued with a reflector directed at me.
It is noticeable that the signal is strengthened somewhat, but has become very unstable and curve jump start.
In general, the reflector and runs index signal level actually added at a great distance by 20%, having an unstable profile. You can fully recommend such upgrades for routers summer, if you want a little bit to amplify the signal.
Have you tried to boost the signal of your router? What did you do for this?
By the way, beer is displayed in the picture never sponsor this post (for the paranoid). After drinking it, I got a hell of a headache, and I can say that for the other, I would not buy it :)
