Integrated Gmail: redecoration of the popular e-mail client
Do It Yourself Web Services / / December 19, 2019
One of the outcomes of this year for me was the fact that the place of conventional programs in my work fully occupied online applications. And, of course, not least among them are Web services from Google. The first is, of course, Gmail and Google Reader. In addition, I often use calendar and task list.
The only thing I miss in this case, is the full integration of these services to each other. It would be very useful if it were possible to easily transfer data from one service to another, and in a single window access to all updates. Google offers us for this service to use iGoogle, where on the same page can be collected in the form of widgets, all the most necessary, but there is another solution.
This solution is called Integrated Gmail and is an extension for Firefox browser. After installing this add-on through your favorite e-mail client Gmail interface will appear completely new elements.
As you can see in the screenshot, email client there were references to services such as Google Reader, Calendar, Notes and others. However, it is not just ordinary links - after clicking the selected service will open directly on the same page in a separate frame.
Thus, you can now access multiple Google release services in one place, and not in the form of widgets with a truncated functionality, and full-length form. Now all at your fingertips, and you can all the necessary actions are easy to do on a single page. For example, after reading the letter, immediately on the calendar to note the date of the meeting, or in seeing RSS interesting article, save quotes from it in Google Notebook.
In addition, the expansion of Integrated Gmail and making some cosmetic changes. At the corners of pages appear green arrows, with which to conceal the top or side panel Gmail. Well, if these changes in appearance will seem not enough, install the extension google Redesigned and the usual services you will be quite recognizable look.
