The new development will allow Adobe to instantly change the style of the photos

Adobe's engineers in collaboration with scientists from Cornell University made a stunning breakthrough in imaging technology. They have created an algorithm that uses the style of one photo to another photo.
New technology makes it possible to take color, lighting, contrast of objects from one photo and apply these settings to the same object to another. In this case, smart algorithms are able to recognize objects and apply effects only where it is really needed.
To make it clearer, look at this example.
On the left is the original photo. In the middle - a picture that serves as a model. On the right you can see the result of processing. The landscape has become colorful and bright and yellow flower changes color to red.
Here is a clear demonstration of the new technology. Note that the algorithms really understand what objects in the photo must be in color and which colors. This is fundamentally different from the mechanism of work of popular Prisma applications that apply artistic effects to all the pictures, not considering that it depicts.
This feature will provide additional opportunities for photographers to express themselves. For example, they can just a few clicks to convert a bright light landscape, shot at sunrise, in the evening a depressive picture. For this will be enough just to pick up a sample from which to copy the styles.
Currently, development is being tested. For more information about it can be obtained from this publication. The source code is placed on the GitHub. Hopefully, in one of the following versions of Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom, we can try this function in action.
Previously, Google has reported that, too, working in this direction. Do not lag behind and Facebook, which is going to use artistic styles used in the real-time video chat.
