Aard Dictionary - This multi-platform free and open source software, which is a shell for easy work with information from Wikipedia, even when you do not have to connect to Internet. Of course, as you may have guessed, this requires pre-download specially prepared for the program's database, which is a local copy of the Wikipedia. These files (Dictionaries) are loaded with
program site and are available for all common world languages. Russian version of the file weighs about 1.8 GB, which is due to compression of data and not in the dictionary images.After installing and running the program shell, connect it to your loaded database. It is possible to connect multiple dictionaries, so you can work at the same time, for example, with the Russian and the English version, which includes many more articles.
Working with the program is no different from the operation of a conventional computer dictionary. You enter the correct word in the query box, and then get the relevant article of the encyclopedia.
