Application for learning foreign languages for iOS is quite a lot, but only a few of them can boast an interesting idea and its embodiment. Their main functionality is to ensure that the user is exploring a different set of words from the dictionary. But there are also applications where the implementation and ease of use are completely different from the usual. One of these - Biscuit - dictionary, which can be replenished from other sources.
A simple example: you are reading foreign websites in English, and you meet an unknown word. Usually you have to switch to the program with the dictionary, enter the word manually, and then view its translation. With Biscuit is done several times faster. You simply copy an unknown word and switch to the application. It is for you, there will be added to the list of unstudied and simple tapom on it you can see the translation. And that's not all. When you copy a word, you can specify in the settings app of its pronunciation. Highlight a word, copied, the program said it - you can see the translation.
It should be noted that the pronunciation of the words does not work only in standard applications, but also in third-party programs. This is very handy if you prefer to use, for example, Google Chrome, instead of the standard Safari.
But that's not all! In the application it is possible to add a whole bunch of words, making a picture (though you will need an account to Evernote for this you). Find an unknown word, photograph, and the program after a short analysis adds it to your dictionary. It must be said that the recognition she manages quite well, too.
Also, to test your knowledge, you can specify in the application displays the word in the dictionary as a notification. The specific time period when you want to receive them, and Biscuit will display unstudied words the transfer of your set.
In general, the interface Biscuit is very similar to the well-known manager of the Clear, which uses the same control mechanics. To add words just pull the list from top to bottom. To mark a word - pull the line from left to right, a little less than to the middle. Longer swipe to move the word to the bottom of the list. Swipe from right to left will darken the selected word. And if you pull on - will mark it as a study.
For those who study foreign languages and often puts in the dictionary unfamiliar words, it is definitely worth a closer look to the application. Bit upsetting only a lack of Russian interface, although the English-Russian dictionary in the application is. What is missing is the Russian-English.
In general, all very comfortable and nice. Biscuit is optimized for iOS 7, so it looks the same name on the system is very harmonious.
Note: in order to work the pronunciation of words, in the application you need to download extra content (for free).
