It is Apple's plans for cloud system suggests analyst UBS Investment Research Meynerd Um (Maynard Um), when talking about the purchase of Lala. This tells AppleInsider. And this purchase may be related to the data center, created by Apple in North Carolina.
It is possible that the data center, and Lala will serve one purpose - to provide users with constant access to digital content and ensure its mobility (this also applies to media content in iTunes, and user-generated content in MobileMe). According to Uma, with Lala, Apple appeared browser / online technology for access to music in any place and on any device without being tied to your home computer and iTunes version computer.
The first steps in this direction were made in November, when without much fuss has been made available iTunes Preview feature (The ability to view a list of songs, album art, artist information, and so on, without the right to listen music).
