According to the results of an independent study on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom It was almost four times more popular than Apple Aperture. Both applications are designed for editing, processing and archiving of images.
The research company InfoTrends I conducted a survey 1045 professional photographers in the United States. His results showed that Lightroom is becoming more popular every year. In 2007, this program was used twice more photos than those who worked with Aperture. And in 2008 there were more supporters Lightroom three times.
On, Adobe last week released software updates Lightroom 2.5 and Camera Raw 5.5 plug-in that supports new models of the most popular digital cameras - Nikon D300s and D3000, Olympus E-P1 and the Panasonic DMC-GF1 and DMC-FZ35. (The blog as Adobe, however, noted that due to the differences in the metadata of the American, European and Japanese versions of the camera Panasonic DMC-FZ35 (USA) DMC-FZ38 (Europe and Japan), with pictures from the DMC-FZ38 can only work with Lightroom and Camera subsequent software updates Raw.)
Adobe employees did not quite appreciate the current situation with the application and prospects. After all, in the words of one of them - John Nack (John Nack), «Adobe team is only beginning to develop the potential of Lightroom, and the best upgrade yet to come."
