FocusMotion makes wearable fitness coach

Today, a number of manufacturers to produce smart watches and bracelets with sports activity trackers. But most of them are not able to distinguish a step up from the squat. FocusMotion platform developers claim that they were able to solve this problem.

FocusMotion creators call themselves a platform «Siri, which understands human movement." Developers offer producers activity trackers special SDK, which will be able to withdraw their gadgets to a new level, "Every individual wearable gadget will be a fitness trainer."

In FocusMotion is based on the collection and processing of data from the gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, and electromyography. The system collects all data from the gadget's sensors, analyzes them and gives the user the necessary parameters to it. The peculiarity of the system is that it accurately tracks every movement.

In practice it looks as follows. When a man waving his hands, kneads them or just open the door, FocusMotion does not perceive it as a step. And it is strong enough sin all modern trackers activity that any movement recorded in steps. So the system can be supplied with all kinds of activities: monitoring of one and a complete rejection of the account of another. Thus, the user can set up your own exercise regimen with an accurate view of the specific movements: running, push-ups or pull-ups.

To date, the platform FocusMotion its creators offer manufacturers of gadgets and individual developers. Among the first partners already appear Samsung, Sony and Pebble. FocusMotion works with both iOS, as well as with Android. Based on an open platform manufacturers can create their own applications. For example, Pebble launched Fitocracy, and Samsung - TRAINR for its Gear 2. The number of partners, by the promises of representatives of the platform, will only increase.
