Things like a web service

It seems that the program Things It became a cult before the final version. The interface combines the simplicity and convenience, many people considered to be exemplary. Developers from Cultured Code has released a version for the iPhone, and has recently introduced a new web service, which is actually a copy of the desktop application.
Author Thn.gs - Valentin Shergin, an employee of "Yandex". He practically "cloned" software interface. In terms of features Thn.gs It lags behind desktop version of a few months. For example, the tag support is already there, but the addition of recurring events is not yet implemented. Really miss the "hot" keys and import tasks from Things.app (and this is, I think, perhaps, because the data is stored in XML-formatted).
It is not clear how to deal with such developments. On the one hand, Valentin made a classy service and has proven that he's a great programmer, on the other hand, there are a lot of questions. Do Thn.gs closed at the request of Cultured Code? If closed, what will happen to the data? How secure is the problem? Will the service fee?
