Apple and Samsung want to send traditional SIM-card in a landfill

During the existence of iPhone SIM-card of the big pieces of plastic with a small chip turned into very small chips, called nano-SIM. Now Apple with Samsung want to completely leave humanity without the subject. Replacing the usual SIM-card will be a virtual e-SIM with the ability to switch between service providers anywhere in the world.
Resource Financial Times statesThat Apple and Samsung are actively negotiating with many foreign operators on the implementation of the new standard. Among these companies there are T-Mobile, AT & T, Vodafone, Orange and others. With these two smartphone maker wants to start cooperation for the further introduction into their cell phones e-SIM standard.
The GSM Association has confirmed work on a new type of SIM-cards, but no further details, and the more formal agreements for the implementation of unified virtual cards yet.
The standard will be based on a separate wireless module inside a smartphone, like Wi-Fi or the LTE, which will save space inside the case and make the device more thinner and lighter.
The most probable date for the appearance of the first samples of e-SIM is called 2016.
