Due to a combination of factors such as seasonality and increasing competition from manufacturers on Android devices, iPad shipments in this quarter will decline significantly, what will happen the first time since devaysa release in 2010 - so says an analyst at KGI Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo).
In his recent report to investors Kuo wrote that the total volume of iPad supply is declining, down from the previous quarter by 20-25%, as compared to the same period of 2012 the decline was 10-15%. The analyst claims that have come to such results, based on data on the "through" sales, which are expected to be between 14 and 15 million units for the quarter. It is also expected 40 percent decrease in demand for iPad mini. In general, Kuo predicts that the current quarter will be sold to retailers approximately 12.7 million tablet from Cupertino: 6.2 million iPad mini, 4,5 million of the fourth-generation iPad, and about 2 million iPad 2.
It is assumed that the fall in the number of shipments is the result of an excess in the budget tablet market on Android, and also says that the third-generation iPad has put in his time too high bar. A recent study conducted to IDC, showed that the iPad share fell by 40% in the first quarter: the annual an increase of 65%, but the share of competing manufacturers Samsung and ASUS jumped 283% and 350% respectively.
However, Kuo notes that in the third quarter is expected seasonal growth, as well as the long-awaited release fifth-generation iPadThrough which supply figures go through the roof again. Either way, the analyst points out that success is largely dependent on how attractive to buyers will postroynevshy iPad 5. Fair.
