We solve mathematical equations using PhotoMath

No matter how many apps in the App Store, no matter how varied their quality, from time to time there appear quite extraordinary projects. Recall at least a translator with augmented reality Word Lens or CamFindThat recognizes the objects in the photo. A few days ago in the Apple application store has another interesting development: PhotoMath - an application that solves math problems using your smartphone's camera.
The principle of the application is very simple: you pick up a smartphone running PhotoMath, aim the camera to any mathematical formula, and then see the result of the calculation is displayed. Ah, such a thing would be me when I'm at school ...
However, the application is useful not only for those who do not want to think and decide. Apart from the result, PhotoMath also write out the whole process step by step solution of the equation. This can help not only the student, but also, for example, parents who decide to check his homework.
At this point in the application of course it has its limitations: thus, for example, PhotoMath can solve not only the complex fraction, decimal numbers, linear equations and standard arithmetic. Nevertheless, the developers promise to improve the application and further, that in theory will allow to perform complex calculations in just a few seconds. Unfortunately, OCR (in this case formulas) can not be called perfect, but very good - easily. PhotoMath can only recognize printed text, written by the equation "by hand" to it are extremely difficult (of course, if they are not written typographic fonts). But this lack of developers promise to bring to the working state.
At the moment, the app is absolutely free and is available for smartphones, iOS, Windows Phone. Version for Android promises to appear in the near future. As stated by the developers, the application has been created yet not for educational purposes, as well as the example of access to technology. Therefore, it is too early really "disable" the brain and solve all from your smartphone. Nevertheless, the demonstration, I think, turned out good. One can only wish good luck to the developers in their difficult task.
And how do you such a decision? Handy to such an application, when you were still at school? Share your opinion in the comments!
