Crib on Messages in OS X

Running in komplektes OS X Messages application often causes misunderstanding among beginners that makes them look towards alternative clients, the most famous of which is Adium. However, having learned several useful keyboard shortcuts, you can quite successfully "tame» Messages.

So, in addition to the standard keyboard at the operating system level, you can Messages.app:

• Move between talking: ⌘ + [or ⌘ +]
• Go to the message text on a new line: ⌥ + return
• Insert a special character or smalik Emoji characters from the embedded table: ⌥ + ⌘ + T
• Insert one of the previous messages sent: ⌥ + ↑ or ⌥ + ↓ (cursor must be in the message text box).
• Quickly move to the beginning of the conversation: ⌘ + ↑ (cursor is not in the message input box).
• Mark message timestamp: ⇧ + ⌘ + K
• Send file: ⌥ + ⌘ + F
• View the progress of file upload operation: ⌥ + ⌘ + L
• Search entire posts: ⌘ + F. Be careful when using this function in large archives of messages may result in CPU utilization and system hang.

Something about memory leaks

Messages may cause a memory leak when you use file transfer service, which can be found in the Activity Monitor, entitled IMTransferAgent. If you notice excessive memory consumption of the process, just close it.
