Alfred - application launcher for Mac OS X and not only

Despite the fact that Mac OS X by default already built quite a good tool for running applications, some users continue to use third-party programs, among which stands out the most QuickSilver. Today I would like to tell the readers about the new free MakRadara launcher called Alfred.

It would be wrong to say that Alfred is only designed to run applications. Among its features, you can highlight search applications (it's obvious), the panel system settings, Safari bookmarks, contacts, folders and even scripts ActionScript.

Alfred cause window is very simple - in default keyboard shortcut Alt + Space (in Spotlight), after which it is possible to write the name of the desired application, which appears in the list. The utility allows you to quickly gain access to other elements of the list by using Cmd + number combination.

The user can expand the search results by using modifier keys: if you press Alt + Return, then the request will be sent to a search web-based system, and a change to the Control Alt allows to search in Spotlight. Additionally, triggers can be used in the app - words that allow Alfred to change their destiny. For example, to ask him to open a specific file to write

open filename.extAnd to force the search word system open should be replaced by find.

But that's not all, the user is able to use other triggers:

• Web search on different sites - in Alfred developers have added not only to the preset values ​​for different popular sites, but also the possibility of adding your own designs, where you want to replace the search query on ice {Query};
