Office for the registration of patents and trade marks in the United States recently issued a patent for the Apple entry system, based on the sound: various noises, which are accompanied by touching the body of the laptop, are transformed into the team, transforming the entire computer into one large unit input.
New Apple patent for the "use of an electronic device housing as the acoustic input means" describes system in which user input information is the noise from the tapping, scratching and other actions with the housing gadget. These sounds captured built into the device body acoustic sensors, and after analyzing the characteristics of the sound waves are converted to corresponding commands.
From the description of the patent, "Deciphering the signal may depend on the input type, the nature of the input, the contact point with the housing, the input amplitude as well as various other factors. For example, the sound of scratching is different from the sound of tapping, and so on. Furthermore, tapping on the housing near one of the computer devices can result in the device action, while tapping the surface of the other housing part can be interpreted as pressing key. " That is, for example, two tapping next to the camera to run it, and the third will take a photo, and scratching or sliding a finger across the surface of the device can be interpreted as commands zoom. Apple also notes that the invention can be used as a substitute for the physical keyboard and touchpad.
As computers tend to have moving parts like hard drive or cooling fan, the patent calls alternatively, to the creation of acoustic insulation in the form of physical barriers built around producing noise components. Another option involves a software solution that ignores the sound of a certain part of the computer, for example, DVD-drive. Since external noise serves to fight a conventional manner similar to noise reduction in iPhone.
With respect to the mobile phone patent can be used for simple operations such as resetting the incoming call. It describes one of the most interesting when the user conducts his finger up or down over the rear portion smartphone, thereby increasing or reducing the volume (method suggests itself inclusion noiselessly by touching the spot where is speaker). Another example describes a scenario already mentioned the camera.
Of course, it is unknown whether Apple implement such technology in their future devices. The emergence of capacitive touch technology is simple, familiar and more accurate option for many operations set forth in the patent. It should be noted that the patent application was filed already in 2009. It is possible that Alexander Pans (Aleksandar Pance), Nicholas Vincent King (Nicholas Vincent King), Duncan Kerr (Duncan Kerr) and Brett Bilbri (Brett Bilbrey), which claimed as the authors were unaware of how great is the role of touch screens in 2013... On the other hand, at a certain wit, which often occurs in the boys from Cupertino may now find application as described in the patent technologies. For example, capacitive sensors can be activated in devoid iPhone buttons…
