Today, at the age of 88 years he died filmmaker, screenwriter and journalist Georgy Danelia. Remembering his best films, many of which have become classics of Soviet and Russian cinema:
"The Way to the pier" (1962)
A screen adaptation of the novel by Victor Koneckogo tells the story of 15-year-old Vaska, hired to work on marine salvage tug "Cola".
"Walking the Streets of Moscow" (1963)

"Do not Cry" (1968)
Comedy-drama film - freestyle adaptation of the novel by Claude Tile "Mon Oncle Benjamin". However, the action moves to Georgia late XIX - early XX century.
"Athos" (1975)
Poignant tragicomedy about unlucky plumbing Athanasia Afonyia, played by Leonid Kuravlev.
"Mimino" (1977)
This comedy tells the story of a provincial pilot, who decided to go to the big aviation. Starring Vakhtang Kikabidze and Frunzik Mkrtchyan.
"Autumn Marathon" (1979)
Philosophical comedy scripted by Alexander Volodin based on his own play. Oleg Basilashvili hero torn between his wife and mistress, clumsily trying to lead a double life.
"Tears dripped" (1982)
Tragicomedy of Evgeny Leonov, which is often referred to as a modern interpretation of the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen's "Snow Queen".
"Kin-Dza-Dza" (1986)
Legendary Soviet dystopia about the "car movement". Two-part tragicomedy with Yevgeny Leonov and Yuri Yakovlev.
"Passport" (1990)
One of the last films of George Danelia. The film takes place in the midst of restructuring, from 1987 to 1990. Merab brothers Jakob and go to the airport and the latter must fly to Israel. Due to an absurd accident he can not do it, the choirmaster and instead go on a journey the taxi driver Merab: it is waiting for a series of ridiculous and amazing adventures.
