The last time I talked about how to enter the machine under the control of Mac OS X to a Windows domain. To some, this article was useful, and several people asked to Twitter how to configure a proxy. I am pleased to tell you about it.
The proxy may be needed in different situations. For example, if we take into account the previous article, I have a network set up a proxy server through which all traffic goes. If you do not register it in the system settings (either individually or in the used software), and the access to the Internet, we do not get. There are other cases when using a proxy, you can make surfing the net more anonymous and access to information, bypassing the various filters.
If you need to use proxies in the whole system, but only in the specific software that is directly in it and you need to make the appropriate entries. For example, Team Viewer can work with proxy. To add the need to open its settings and to register the address of the proxy server.
As you can see, Team Viewer can take as browser settings (take prescribed server from the settings you standing on the client's default), or prescribed manual.
But if you need to use a proxy in the whole system, then it should be done in the respective setup menu. Open "System Preferences" and go into the category of "Internet and wireless network", where we pass the "Network" menu.
Next, you need to select a connection method. I show by example.
The fact that the work I connect to the network via a normal cable, but at home I use a WiFi connection. At home I have no proxies are not used, but they are required for your connection. Therefore, the settings are written, depending on the connection method.
So tyknuv on the lock, remove restrictions, select the connection method and click the "Advanced" button. go to "Proxy" tab in the menu that appears. Here you can check the box for various kinds of connections (this is better to ask your network administrator). In the presence of a file auto-tuning is sufficient to proceed to the appropriate item and register its path, either choose a file from your hard drive. If the file you do not have, then tick off the necessary elements, list the proxy address and port (you can enter as the IP-address or name). Also, if your proxy server requires authentication, in the fields below, you can enter a user name and password.
Close the window and apply the settings. That's all. Now you can open your browser and check your Internet appeared or not.
If you have any further questions, ask them, please, in the comments to this article.
