7 minimalistic Linux distributions

After we discussed the 10 examples of successful application of Linux in universities and schools, I propose to talk about today is very exotic destinations in the world of Linux-based systems, which is not nearly as many fans full desktop products as notorious geeks. However, I am sure that there are such people among our readers and they will surely appreciate our current selection. And it will be about 7 Linux distributions, small enough to fit even on the USB-stick antediluvian.
If you like to experiment with the old iron, to collect non-standard computers with their hands out of old parts or simply want spice up your "first Pentium" around gathering dust in a closet, you will come in handy one of the distributions generated on the basis of the Linux-kernel enthusiasts. Usually the list of wider distribution, but I have selected the best of them are small and undemanding in terms of disk space and hardware resources:
- AntiX - This distribution is an extremely light version of the parent distribution Mepis Linux, built on the stable branch OS Debian.The main installation package will take about 128 MB of disk space for the kernel and drivers, and the basic package of programs - only 300 MB. As used herein the package manager Synaptic.
- BasicLinux - one of the most minimalist distro, which is able to work even on a PC with a processor Intel 386 with only 3 MB RAM.
- Damn Small Linux - after downloading the installation package size will be a total of 50 MB for the distribution. Additional software for it can be installed using Debian APT tools. To work the minimum required processor not lower 486DX and 16 MB of RAM.
- Puppy Linux - the assembly after downloading "weighs" only 133MB. The role of the manager package here is a version of Synaptic Lucid Puppy Ubuntu Compatible.
- SliTaz - distribution of the size of 25 MB. In the role of the distribution's package manager creators used Tazpkg with its own repository.
- Tiny Core Linux - the distribution can be described as "less than nowhere": only 12 MB is its size. As a software repository used herein packages build and install them on the basis of TCZ.
- xPud - and the distribution completes our list, its size - 64 MB.
