Worml - an easy way to transfer a file to colleagues and friends

There are several ways to transfer the file to colleagues and friends who are hundreds or thousands of kilometers away from you. You can use good old email (and in this case will run into restrictions on sending attachments), download the file to RapidShare or one of its many counterparts, you can still take your FTP. There are other options.
However, the easiest way seems to offer Worml developers. Worml provides direct file transfer between two computers. No third-party services will not be involved in this case. This in turn makes it possible to avoid restrictions on the format and size of transmitted files.
Worml has a hell of an interesting interface. To submit another file, you select the recipient from your Contacts list ...
and run a "portal", which looks like this:
In this portal drag and drop files. He immediately sent a friend. Alas, a static screenshot is not able to display animations and convey the impression of the work. Worml more explicitly demonstrated in this video:

As you can see the designer has used an interesting metaphor for the interface "portals" of fiction and wormholes (wormholes) Of physics.
With that in Worml laid a very interesting idea, the app itself is far from ideal. To transfer files in such a way, each user must be set Worml client ($ 4.99). If "on the side" of such a program is not present, the file transfer becomes a little more complicated. Worml allows you to generate a link to a file stored on your Mac. Buddy download the file from your computer.
However, even if you have both installed Worml, it is, alas, does not mean that the file transfer will take place automatically without any problems. Can prevent and firewalls, and routers. During the tests, the application I successfully managed to accept the file, but could not send it (for both Macs users, as well as routers used Time Capsule and AEBS). The fact that the problem exists, is implicitly recognized in the developers letter to users of 25 September. The program's authors claim that the full working of a free upgrade, which will work with the Worml even those users that sit behind strict firewalls.
