It would seem that today no surprise the idea of a smart home. But the staff at MIT is, perhaps, possible. They have developed a device that can adjust the homely atmosphere under a person's mood.
Unusual instrument called EQ-Radio. On the surface it looks like a router, but has a much broader functionality. The device is able to recognize four emotions: Enthusiasm, anger, sadness and pleasure. To understand what a person feels, the device "listens" to his heartbeat and breathing. He gets the information via radio waves reflected from the human body. Further, by means of special self-training algorithm unit processes the data and understand in what mood you are in.
If you believe the creators of the EQ-Radio, the accuracy of determining emotions stranger is 72%. If the appliance has to deal with a person, whose performance he read out several times, the probability of hitting the jackpot increases to 87%.
The developers claim that their invention can be used to adjust the mood of the owner at home. For example, EQ-Radio suspect you have a flash of righteous anger. To little to calm you, the device will include soothing music and dim the lights to create a comfortable atmosphere.
However, there are fears that the EQ-Radio - another herald the imminent uprising of machines with which it is better not to joke. At the moment, it is unknown whether it can get crazy and you turn on a lullaby at bedtime instead of, for example, a couple of songs AC / DC or transform your chandelier in a stroboscope.
New information about the device will soon appear. The developers plan to submit it to the MobiCom conference which will be held from 3 to 7 October in New York.
